10 Simple Ways To Get More Visitor Traffic To Your Website

traffic-cars-get-more-visitors-websiteHaving a website is great…

But if no one is visiting you’re not going to get much from your investment.

And if you’re creating content for your site — for best results — you should be spending most of your time actually promoting it after it’s posted.

Here’s a short list of 10 ideas for how to increase the number of visitors to your site:

1. Social Media Update

This one is pretty obvious and most people do it. But it usually stops at posting the link. Try asking people to share it or tag others they think should visit.

2. Business Card

If you don’t have a business card, get one with just the basics. Don’t just hand it out to everyone… have a valuable conversation with someone. Then before you go, give them a business card as a reminder to visit you online to continue the connection.

3. Email Signature

If you’re like most professionals, you’re emailing constantly. Why not take 10 seconds to add a link to the bottom of every email that will display to everyone you email… with no additional effort!

4. Social Profiles

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus (and others) all have a place in your profile for a web address. If people like what you’re posting, they might want to find out more about you and click on the link.

5. Send An Email

Send a personal email to several people you know who you’d like to visit your site. Not everything is Facebook. People still check email!

6. Send Links To Your Email Newsletter

If you’re not using an email newsletter service… you should. It’s a great way to keep people returning to your site. Build your list and then send the occasional update with a link to some new content to keep them coming back.

7. Social Sharing

Place Facebook Like buttons, Tweet Buttons, and other social sharing buttons on your site. Encourage your visitors to click, and their network connections are likely to visit!

8. Ads

You can pay to place ads on Facebook, Twitter, Google, and other people’s websites. If you know you’ll get a return on your investment, this could work out well for you. But if you’re not selling anything or building an email list of leads, this might not be for you.

9. Connect With Other Content Creators

Find people online who are doing something similar or complimentary. Ask them to share your site with their audience!

10. Create Awesome Content

This is the most important. None of the above will really work without this. You won’t have an easy time building your numbers if your site sucks. Your content should be relevant and your offers should actually solve someone’s needs.

There are countless strategies and tactics you can use. Building traffic takes effort. A “build it and they will come” attitude will not help you.

You gotta hustle!
